Pueblo offers access to waterfront recreation and regional travel options. The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo runs through downtown, and Lake Pueblo State Park is about 10 miles west with boating, fishing, and trail access. Pueblo sits along Interstate 25 about 45 miles south of Colorado Springs, and the city is known for the Pueblo Levee Mural Project, one of the longest outdoor murals in the region. Outdoor travelers can also reach San Isabel National Forest in roughly an hour, while Union Avenue Historic District provides local dining, galleries, and walkable historic blocks near the city center.
