Position Summary Animal and Bird Hospital of Del Mar is seeking motivated, compassionate individuals to join our team as Veterinary Assistants. Primary Responsibilities Assist veterinarians and technical staff with patient care and treatments Safely restrain animals during examinations, diagnostics, and procedures Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian Assist during medical procedures and emergencies Collect blood, urine, and fecal samples and learn proper laboratory handling techniques Prepare for and clean up after surgical procedures Clean and sanitize cages, kennels, and treatment areas Bathe and groom animals as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital Support a positive client experience through professionalism and compassionate care Qualifications & Skills Passion for animal care and interest in veterinary medicine Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Willingness to learn new skills and accept constructive feedback Ability to safely lift and restrain animals of varying sizes Previous veterinary or animal handling experience is a plus, but not required Work Environment Collaborative, team-oriented culture Supportive leadership focused on training and development Conveniently located within walking distance of the beaches of Del Mar In-person position within an active veterinary hospital setting Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Employee discount Why Join Animal and Bird Hospital of Del Mar?
